Ths shrine to the black madonna in Czestochowa is the holiest site for the version of Catholicism that is practiced in Poland. It is based around a church housed in a fortified complex which overlooks the town. For Catholics Mary is the mother of God. This version of Mary comes directly from the Greek goddess of Athena and I believe that certain mystic elements of the godess of the harvest have been added. This goddess would have been worshipped before the arrival of Christianity in central Europe. Pilgrims come from all over Poland to visit this shrine which in the summer can include people walking very long distances. My channel on you tube : www.youtube.com is one of themost prolific from Poland, although unfortunately not the most visited. I have produced a number of films, most in English but also in Polish, French, Italian, Spanish and the occassional hint of German and Hebrew. My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging — www.ceepackaging.com – the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focussing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers. Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine! In 1997 I …

Atheists sure are good at rewriting the history.
@000042229 Atheists may be putting people in prison in those communist countries although the Cuban government claims it is not. I fail to see what communism has to do with me though but that apart. Obviously the Catholic church is not so good at collaborating with them there as it was with Hitler, Franco, Mussolini etc.. Maybe it is because it has no holocausts there to help organise.
We can only hope that the atheists will never again be allowed to what they have done during the years of communism. Unfortunately, in some counties such as North Korea, Cuba, China, atheists still put people to prisons or concentration camps, torture and put them to death for not sharing their believes.
@000042229 I would believe God existed if there were any proof but if he does he exist then surely the burden of proof is on him.
I am glad to hear that at least you are tolerant – fortunately the Inquisition no longer exists (at least not in that name and it certainly does not practice the way it used to).
Whatever man. I see I have been wasting my time. Good luck to you in your believe that God doesn’t exist. Don’t worry, I will not persecute you for that. See, unlike atheists, we Catholics are very tolerant people. But if you want to preach to people about Catholic Church or any other religion, at least get your basic information right.
@000042229 I suspect you must be from North Korea if you are from an atheist country. In Poland for example, priests were hanging out in schools under the communists although it is worse now than then.
@000042229 Hitler did not go to church whilst building camps but in any case he could have seen a priest, confessed and then it would have been OK. The govt of Russia was not atheist when Stalin was there but Russian orthodox. Stalin did not kill because of his faith in God although he often spoke of God – maybe it was this faith that put the idea into his head.
@000042229 Atheists are not allowed into schools to tell children about science and logic. On the other hand priests are allowed into schools where children are brainwashed stories about virgin births, talking snakes, catechisms (whatever they are), how the Pope is God’s representative and maybe even how the evil Jews killed that poor Catholic Jesus.
I am atheist and don’t believe in good luck charms. But I prefer them to the evil of religion.
@000042229 I don’t know what the statistics show. Given that the allegation is that a priest can get away with it because of a position of trust would make it harder to know. I do know however that I have never heard of it amongst Christian priests or Jews although I am not suggesting it never happens.
Regarding pedophilia among the clergy, you should do some more research. There is no indication that priest are more involved in pedophilia than any other social group. Priests just sell the news better. I thought you wanted to appear as an accurate reporter.
Was HItler building those concentration camps during his church going days? I am afraid that it all started when he converted into atheism. Now Stalin, he was in a minor seminary. Most likely he was sent there by the atheist government to spy. There are known cases of seminarians who turned out to be government’s agents. Again, was Stalin killing millions of people because of his faith in God, or because of his believe that God doesn’t exist. Don’t be ridiculous.
I used the word “superstition” in a sarcastic way. And brainwashing children is very much atheists’ specialty. I lived under atheistic government, so I know first hand. Black cats and horoscope are things that atheists believe. Sorry, you are a very confused person.
@000042229 I don’t think the reason why anyone wants to live in North Korea is because it is an atheist country.
I am glad it was you who used the word superstition first. If someone wants to be superstitious and believe in unlucky black cats, horoscopes in the paper, or virgin births – I don’t mind – in fact I don’t care. What gets me is the intolerance and hatred that religion brings. And I especially resent this evil poisoning the minds of children so they are brainwashed for life.
By the way, the most atheistic country today is North Korea. No religion or faith in God is allowed there. The atheists for the last few decades where in control of all aspects of life. There were trying to build that paradise on Earth, where people would be free of the “opium” of religion and superstition and therefore very happy without all those restrictions that religions post on people. Well, I wonder why nobody want to live there?
@000042229 Lets have a look. Stalin trained as a priest – not many atheists do that. Hitler was a Catholic. I don’t know about Che but Castro is a Catholic – but the latter two are hardly in the same league. Hatred is an integral part of many religions including Catholicism, paedophilia on the other hand seems to be a Catholic specialiity. From the Inquisition to the holocaust to today’s religious wars, yours is a trail of blood and millions of lives ruined through suffering.
When it comes to cruelty, killing innocent people, intolerance, hatred, pedophilia, and all other sins and atrocities known to human kind, atheists have been always leading the score. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Che, Castro, etc, etc, all proud atheists, are responsible for more deaths and human suffering in just the modern history, than Catholics and other Christians, and all other religions all together ever will.
@000042229 That may be what you think. Atheists don’t go around blowing themselves up, burning people at the stake, hold inquisitions to learn about alleged religious unorthodoxy, torture them to get them to change from one religion to another, abuse positions of religious trust to commit paedophilia, force women to hide themselves under layers and layers of clothing, deny women equal rights in the name of some relgion etc etc etc…… So yes, there is a bit of dogma in atheism.
I always thought that Atheism is the most dogmatic and fanatic religion there is.
Mary is a Greek goddess Athena? Wow, did you find this in the Bible or in some science book?
@000042229 If Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ as you claim then it certainly is a matter of opinion. If you read the gospel. which I assume you have not, you would know that Mary was allegedly a virgin. Therefore one assumes that either she was impregnated by some form of in vitrio which had not yet been invented or someone else was his mother. That is of course if you accept that Jesus actually existed.
May I suggest that you get some elementary biological knowledge.
@000042229 If that is the least of the mistakes then it would have been more intelligent if you had pointed out the greatest mistake.
Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ our Lord. It is not a matter of your or anybody’s opinion, it’s a matter of fact. You would know that if you read the Gospel. In other words, don’t talk about things you don’t know anything about.
You really make a fool of yourself saying those comments. It it clear to me that you don’t know much, if anything about Christianity, Catholic Church, or Holy Scriptures. By the way, there are 14 stations of the “Way of the Cross”, not 12. But, don’t worry, that is the least of the mistakes that you made in your video.
Sorry – I report accurately and not necessarily what you would consider positively. There is a limit on how many letters can be put in a title.
Please put a more deatailed title up. I came to watch your video expecting to here you talk positively of a holy shrine.
Wow, amazing blog layout! How long have you been blogging for? you make blogging look easy.
